Mycelium Excursions

in Development for 2021

Mycelium is mass of branching threads that are part of a fungus. They’re found in an on soil, including around tree roots, and are part of the reproductive cycle of fungus. They can be so small so to be invisible to the human eye, or massive and spanning thousands of acres. Trees communicate through mycelium.

A lot of the outreach projects we do involve going into nature, whether that be immediately outside of a dance studio, or up to a couple of hours’ drive to a national park. These sites become places for meditation, study, relaxing, and artistic development. Longer trips may involve camping!

In 2020 we are developing experiences for artists and audiences to join us on creativity-informed excursions into nature.

If you’d like to be involved, sign up to receive information about our Nature Immersions.
